Small Bussiness Victoria: Showcasing the Faces of Small Business

The business challenge

How to highlight unique Victorian businesses

Small Business Festival Victoria’s annual photographic exhibition, Faces of Small Business, showcases inspiring stories from a diverse range of Australian small business operators.

To showcase the exhibition at the August 2016 Small Business Festival Victoria, the Victorian Government approached Assemblo to build an interactive digital platform.

The idea

Creating a kinetic interactive digital experience

Small business owners’ stories were told through inspirational photos and rich case studies, highlighting their unique stories and approaches to business.

The aim of the project was to create a memorable and interactive experience for the duration of the festival (August 2016) and beyond.

Working closely with Small Business Victoria, we were able to execute a striking, responsive showcase of business stories.

The impact

The online exhibition was unveiled during the Small Business Festival Victoria and exceeded internal project goals within its first week. Results included:

  • Over 60,000 visitors to the website during the festival.
  • The number one content engagement topic on the Small Business Festival Facebook page during the festival.
  • Featured businesses and their networks were highly engaged across a variety of digital platforms.

“Working to restrictive time frames and budget on this project, Assemblo were able to bring innovation and experience to the table to create a memorable and striking digital showcase.”
